Beskrivning
The world is changing rapidly and alcohol and drug policy must be adapted to new realities. In general Swedish men and women are well educated, affluent, to some degree receptive to influences from other parts of the world, less willing to accept dictates from authorities and more proponed to making their own decisions. At the same time a part of the population is becoming increasingly marginalized. All of these factors have contributed to varying patterns of alcohol and drug consumption in society. In this course we will analyze both traditional thinking about alcohol and psychoactive drugs and some of the new theoretical perspectives which are being discussed internationally. The different theories will be used both to analyze different alcohol and drug policy models, and as a basis for discussing the roles of social workers in this field.
