Finance is fundamental in most organizations decision making. These decisions include how to assess companys performance, how much to invest: how to acquire a company, how to finance an investment; how to value an asset: how to manage risk, how much to distribute to shareholders and how management should be organized and compensated. To deal with these issues and to be able to solve such problems it is necessary to understand the roles played by financial markets and institutions, the impact of financial regulations, the importance of risk analysis and how to construct efficient portfolios.
The main objective of this course package is to provide in-depth understanding of the above topics. The package consists of the following courses:
Financial Reporting and Analysis. The purpose of this course is to give students the knowledge to assess a companys performance and financial position, regardless of its origin. The course provides a complete description of the analysis process for reports, and information on income tax and financial accounting, employee compensation and exchange rates effects on multinational corporation reports
Fixed Income Fundamentals and Derivatives. This course equips students with the tools required to understand the construction, the pricing and the risks of bonds and fixed income derivatives. The course introduces students to the state-of-the-art analytical tools and management strategies currently used by financial leaders.
Portfolio Management and Alternative Investment. This course examines the characteristics of individual securities as well as the theory and practice of optimally combining securities into portfolios. The course presents the key tools of alternative investment and portfolio management.
Industrial Restructuring and Entrepreneurship. This course provides students with a foundation for understanding mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring.
