This will enhance your cultural experience and English-language proficiency.## Work-integrated learningUniversity West is Swedens leading university in work-integrated learning (WIL). We were tasked with the development of WIL by the Swedish government 15+ years ago and continue to lead the field today. This approach focuses on problem-based learning for industry and gives you access to real projects from partner companies and research centres.Your courses and instructors are based on the active research of Production Technology West (PTW), internationally recognised for work in production systems and processes in the manufacturing industry.We built your specialisation in AI and automation in close collaboration with corporate partners, who will provide you with insight and project work throughout your studies. Your training concludes with a masters thesis you design and complete in collaboration with a company or within the PTW research group.## Advanced laboratories and access to expertsAs a production technology engineer with a specialisation in AI and automation, you will have access to our Production Technology Centre (PTC) during your studies. PTC is one of the largest and most updated manufacturing laboratories in Sweden.The PTC has been supporting the work of experts in production technology for over 15 years. This collaborative platform offers a unique collection of research technologies related to AI and automation:- Flexible industrial automation- Agent-based automation- Smart process monitoring and process controlOngoing research projects at PTC address intelligent agent-based automation for the manufacturing industry and smart process control of robotised 3D printing of metals.## CareerWith the development of the Internet of Things and the transition to Industry 4.0, many sectors now realise the importance and potential of AI and automation. AI and automation can support the increased need for flexible and highly automated production. Your studies are founded on the needs of leading companies operating in this sector.
