Ett socialt Europa
The aim of Social Europe is to expand your knowledge and understanding of European citizenship from a social perspective and to enhance knowledge of the processes and complexities associated with creating a European Social Model given the institutional framework and the challenges facing modern Europe. The course focuses on five central themes. The first theme introduces the concept of a social Europe and questions the commitment to and the institutional framework for creating social policy at the Europe level. The following themes consider specific policy arenas; changing family life, social security, industrial relations and human services and social Europe and migration. Social Europe is organized as a stream of lectures, seminars, student presentations, written assignments, workshops and guest lectures. As a final examination, you are required to write, present and defend an original research proposal formulated around a central aspect of social Europe research.
