Master Programme in Strategic Human Resource Management and Labour Relations

The Masters Programme in Strategic Human Resource Management and Labour Relations is offered to international and Swedish students and provides knowledge about working life and especially work within Strategic Human Resource Management (HRM). The Masters Programme has an international approach, addresses both international and Swedish students and is offered jointly by the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Sociology and Work Science.

Careers:

The programme provides skills for working with Strategic HRM and Labour Relations. It prepares you for working as a strategic partner in the organisation and within human resources. A strategic partner works as an expert in the formulation of specific HRM strategies, including the adjustment of business goals into human resource strategies. A strategic partner is also an expert in understanding how trends in society and working life impact upon organisations and human resource work.
The programme addresses you who are interested in human resource work at a strategic level in both private companies and public administration and also you who are interested in applying for doctoral studies in Sociology or Work Science.

Contents:

The Master's Programme in Strategic Human Resource Management and Labour Relations is a two year programme (120 credits). All courses are taught in English. The first year in the programme starts with two courses in parallel; a course in Strategic Human Resource Management and a course in Research Theories and Methods. The third course is in HRM in a Societal Perspective. The first year ends with an elective course. The second year starts with another elective course, which is followed by a course in Challenges in HRM. The final course is a 30 credit Master's thesis. The elective courses are determined by the programme board.
